Tuesday Events!

Not much going on this Tuesday… more time to do homework?  Or more time to stalk old high school friends on facebook?  You know the answer.  In any case, here’s what’s up tomorrow.

  • Listen to visiting professor Aileen Ribeiro during her lecture “Naked and Profane: Women, Dress and Morality”. She’ll be talking about the transformative qualities of clothing (or lack thereof) on the female body.  You’ll find her in Graham Hall, Hillyer, from 5:00 to 6:45 pm.
  • To Live and to Write: Contemporary Korean Women’s Literature” Listen to Cho Kyong-ran and P-yon Hye-yong, two female Korean writers, as they read from their new novels.  Lecture and conversation to follow.  Find it at 4:30 pm in the Neilson Browsing Room.  When it’s over, you can buy copies of their books and get them signed!  It’s a perfect holiday gift for all your East Asian Studies friends.

Also, make sure to check out the various Presentations of the Major/Minor tomorrow!

  • Jewish Studies: 12-1:30 pm, Seelye 201, lunch provided
  • Physics: 12:15-1 pm, McConnell 103
  • Spanish & Portuguese & Latin American Studies: 4-6 pm, Seelye 207, refreshments served
  • Ancient Studies (minor): 5 pm, Dewey Hall Philosophy Lounge, pizza and beverages provided
  • Education and Child Study Major/Minor: 5-6 p.m., Smith College Campus School library.

Most of them will have free food, too, so don’t miss out!
