Things to Leave at Home

Want to bring some things, but not sure whether they’re allowed or not? This list should help.

NOT ALLOWED

  • Candles (really don’t bring them, many houses have very short burn times)
  • Incense (same reason)
  • Microwaves (unless you rent one from the school)
  • Toasters

UNNEEDED

  • Mirrors
  • Trash cans
  • Desks
  • Desk chairs
  • Bookshelf
  • Bed risers (at least check how high the beds in your house are before buying them)

    I’d recommend bringing mirrors because some rooms don’t have them or have them in a good location, and bed risers are a must!

    Bed risers are not optional. There are maybe maybe maybe 5 rooms on campus where I wouldn’t advise brining them and those are the rooms that are so small the college has literally lofted the bed for the students.
